Saturday at the Market

Health, Life

One Saturday morning, I went to a local farmers’ market. I decided to take a fashion risk and be a hipster, so I wore leg warmers with my shorts and flip-flops. Of course whenever I’m going for a hipster vibe I also wear my glasses.

Gotta love a partial selfie. Is there a separate term for that?

I didn’t buy anything at the market. After doing a once-around walk, I realized I was content just looking at all the fresh and beautiful things.

Spending time outside during summer is definitely time well spent. Even if I did come home empty handed.

The Seven Semesters: #7

Uncategorized

Going back for my final semester was difficult in that I knew it was going to be for such a short period of time. I accomplished a lot in my final four months of college!

I mentored a wonderful group of transfer students. My group was great but they honestly didn’t need much of a mentor! Regardless I loved being partnered with my friend Hannah, and I enjoyed making some new friends for my final semester.

I planned my second and final homecoming! I actually came back a few days before FYF mentor training in order to get a head start on homecoming planning. Technically I assisted planning the event, but I really enjoyed the freedom and responsibilities trusted to me with this big occasion.

We had some really fun times together, including Country Music Awards night, Friday traditions, and getting our hair done together!

I moved into an apartment with Victoria and Heather. I grew to absolutely love this home we shared.

From #phil102c to Dunkin Donuts runs to other good times (like the Rend Collective concert!), I’m so thankful for all the times I had with these two.

I took a mini trip to Valparaiso with friends to see Trolls run, and to meet with my friend Megan.

I couldn’t have asked for a better group! These guys are hard working classmates but also good friends.

I led a senior capstone team to raise awareness for Ruminate Magazine. I feel as if I hit the jackpot, as I loved the organization as well as my group.

Condensing this rich, full semester into a few paragraphs and pictures is a difficult task. Though these represent just a few highlights, I loved so many more memories from this seventh and final semester.

When We Do Weekends

Uncategorized

Lisa and I came up with this phrase once,

When we do weekends,
We. Do. Weekends.

ImageThis picture was taken at our most recent GNO. Being out and about on the town with these ladies was a fun and a solid way to kick-start our weekend. We had a great time eating, chatting, and perusing stores that were open late as it was literally Girl’s Night Out (yeah, that’s actually a thing in some small towns).

The Countdown

Uncategorized

I have reached the season in life where several weekends each year include a wedding. Earlier this month, I attended Paul & Morgan’s wedding, and my brother will get married next weekend! The next seven days ahead are going to be some of the craziest, busiest days of 2013.

Between homecoming, friends visiting (!!!!) being a student, anddd gaining a sister-in-law all within one week, my goal is to be intentional about enjoying each moment.

I am loving this weekend with my sister, Elizabeth. We have enjoyed an above-average amount of chill time, shopping time, and coffee time. I finally got to see The Great Gatsby (loooved it BTW). We ate at Noodles&Co (my favorite!) and we also got to attend a bachelorette party for our future sister-in-law, Melissa (gummy bears, enough said).

Elizabeth and I are planning to move in together in the beginning of 2014; we already have the place locked in and named. I cannot wait to share some exciting plans in the works regarding our new place.

Best dinner: 1/2 pesto cavatappi and 1/2 penne rosa. Both with rice noodles of course. #GFlife

I took a trip to Florida with some of my favorite girls. We took lots of pictures (and walks along the beach!), went shopping, ate delicious food, chatted, laughed, got a little too close to a few chameleons, etc etc. A great time was had by all!

Star

Uncategorized

I’m just gonna put this out there: I could get used to the life of a celeb.

A good feeling definitely came with my name on a gold star. I mean, being a host for a spoof men’s pageant isn’t quite fame, but it was fun to enjoy my day in the sun. Night in the sun? Night in the moon? It was fun to enjoy the night as a star.
