It’s March already? It’s March already! I almost never say this, but this winter has gone by so quickly! (Maybe this is the first time I’ve ever said that. I have the 70 degree February day to thank.)
Life has been busy. I’ve spent a lot of time at work, the gym, and with my family and friends. This is what 2017 has been like so far:
Turns out early morning workouts are theeeeee best, especially on Mondays and when you want to take mirror gym selfies. I normally work out after work but it’s super refreshing to avoid the after work rush sometimes.
I joined an eight-week fitness challenge that will end next week. I. LOVED. IT! I only lost a few pounds, but my goal was to learn new ways to exercise and eat healthy and both of those goals were accomplished so I’m happy about it. I’ve had to track all my food (#OverIt), so I’m excited for that to be over soon. I hope to share more about the program’s diet.
Right before this picture we went to a craft fair and ate tacos. That, my friends, is the good life.
My friend Victoria visited me in January, and I visited her in February! She’s one of my best friends from college, and I’ve only seen her a total of four times after college.
I got to visit with my friend Allison one more time before her baby comes! I’m so thankful for the ease of conversation, hilarious memories and for the way she listens and cares so well.
This squad was established in the ’90s. #SJpartyof4
I am humbled and blessed by many of my friends, old and new. I’m excited for more good times with the people I love.
Do you know what day it is?
AND April Fool’s Day!
But I really wasn’t trying to pull a fast one on y’all by posting a “Selfie Sunday” post on a Wednesday.
I titled this post Selfie Sunday because these selfies were taken on Sunday (clever points, or naw?). Sometimes I feel like I waste an outfit when I put together something cute for church and then switch to gym clothes or other pajamas for the rest of the day. I usually consider one of two options (1) recycle the outfit for the next day, or (2) blog about it! I should really start doing both 🙂
So here’s what I wore this past seasonally transitional weekend:
I’m glad it’s finally warm enough for me to wear this cute dress. I love the lace pocket!
Cute yellow chair, am I right? A friend from my roommate’s church totally GAVE it to us. Love it!
My mom gave me these mini-Uggs for Christmas, and I’m shocked at how often I wear them!
OBV it is not summer so bare legs is not an option at this point. Leggings FOR THE WIN!
I can’t wait to bust out more spring and summer clothes… and maybe store some of my winter stuff at Mom and Dad’s house for a while!
I’ll be honest-it’s tough to be a fashionista in the Midwest in March. One day it’s 70 degrees and the next it snows and then it’s 30 degrees for the next week. I have to choose: (A) dress like Christmas for another month (wahhh!) or (B) FREEZE… and unfortunately there’s not much in between.
Some days, I accept the challenge to try to be both seasonally appropriate and climatically suitable.
Spring is coming. Spring IS coming. Spring is COMING!
There’s no color that sings “spring” more than mint green. And there’s no sweater warmer than the one I’m sporting here!
I had a great Sunday afternoon with my adorable friend Kara! The weather was nice, we got to be outside, and we took the opportunity to get dressed up. I’m thankful for Kara and for our time together downtown!
I also gained a new appreciation with this song at church on Sunday. Check it out!
I spent the majority of last week in Florida, which was both pleasant and relieving. I’m telling you, it’s been exhausting; moving, starting a new job, and transitioning into a new phase of live (all during the worst winter of my life-and I don’t think I’m exaggerating here). I’m not sure I’d been TRULY WARM for an entire six month period, from mid-October until my Florida trip, so feeling warm was great.
I loved my time in the sun, eating good meals, and long walks on the beach (predictable much?)
I like to think I’m good at vacation.
I had a lovely time with great ladies this weekend! Five of my favorite college girls road tripped to Wisconsin to see me. Usually after hosting a bunch of guests I’d expect to feel exhausted. Instead, I feel happy, filled, and even more rested– these girls are exceptional company. They washed more dishes than I did, and Victoria even did lots of the cooking with me! I’m thankful for sweet friends and for a perfect visit.
Today officially marks the season of spring, and I’ll be the first to proclaim I’m really happy about it! I don’t hide the fact that I’m simply not a winter girl and I feel like a new woman as the springtime has arrived. The sun was out, I wore my Sperrys and I heard the birds outside. The earth is rejoicing with me as a new season is here!
