Epic Weekend

Life

I love shopping with my friend Kara. One time when we were at H&M we bought “Epic Weekend” shirts. I’m so glad I wore such “Epic Weekend” shirt this weekend because it was, well, epic.

I got to catch up with hometown friends at my friend Anna’s wedding. [The ceremony was beautiful AND we got to dance to great songs like “Uptown Funk” and “Shake It Off”]

I went to my first outdoor concert of the season. [BELLA CAIN IN THE RAIN but also in a very large tent…so we were high and dry, and they sang Big Red Wagon!]

I discovered a new boutique shop. [And justified buying a new dress because it was HOT and I was wearing jeans.]

I got iced coffee with my friend Ellie and we got to sit outside. [LOVE that girl.]

My BFF Katie got engaged. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).[Stay tuned for more pictures and happiness to follow!]

Megan and I are working on taking more pictures together. As cute as I FELT that night, I can't say I'm very content with the picture!

What did y’all do this weekend?

I Can’t Help It If You Look Like An Angel

Life

The serious country music fans will appreciate this post. Remember Taylor Swift’s second album, Fearless (released in 2008, what?!)? Anyways, one of the songs on that album is “Hey Stephen,” which is written about Stephen Barker Liles, from Love and Theft.

My friend Victoria calls me a groupie, and I definitely have been “groupie-esque” since 2008 or before. So, to break down how a fan-girl’s mind works:

  1. Hears Taylor Swift’s album “Fearless”
  2. Investigates Love And Theft
  3. Purchases Love And Theft’s first album (in 2009, what?!)

The rest is history. I’ve literally loved Love and Theft for half a decade some time now. When my friend Kara discovered that this duo would be in Milwaukee, we bought our tickets.

The venue had a wheel you could spin to win prizes. I spun the wheel and landed on “mystery prize.” I was asked if I wanted to meet the band with my friends.

Um. Yes.

Actually, it went more like this:

“Really? Are you serious right now? YES! I’d LOVE to meet THEM! THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! GUYSSSS I’M GOING TO CRY! IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?”

Kara and Megan, my partners in crime for the night, got to meet the band too.

Turns out Stephen and Eric are both really nice (and married, shucks); we got to chat and take pictures, and I got a selfie with Stephen, and even though this happened half a month ago I am still on cloud nine about it.

All those other girls, yeah they’re beautiful,
But would they blog a post for you?

Summertime: Let The Jams Begin

Uncategorized

Summer means concerts, people, and I’ve got a good feeling about this year’s lineup. I hope to hit up a few county fairs that haven’t yet posted their entertainment. Here’s some good stuff I know of so far:

Summerfest: True life on-the-blog confession- never have I ever attended Summerrfest. I hope I can change that in 2014:

  • Kip Moore (because somethin-bout-a-truck makes me want to see him live)
  • Scotty McCreery AKA Scotty McHottie
  • David Nail (I don’t know a lot of his songs, but I love what I know)
  • The Head And The Heart (I’m branching out, people!)
  • A Great Big World (I volunteer to sing the female part of Say Something)

And then there’s Country Thunder. I missed it when I didn’t go last year! This year’s lineup includes:

  • Thompson Square and Gary Allen on Thursday
  • Eli Young Band and Miranda Lambert on Friday (eeeeeeeee!)
  • Randy Houser and Brantley Gilbert on Saturday
  • Colt Ford, Thomas Rhett and Jason Aldean on Sunday

The Wisconsin State Fair would also be a new experience for me; I’d love to see Lady Antebellum there.

Typical Tuesday

Uncategorized

Last night, I saw Florida Georgia Line with one of my favorite sets of sisters. Lauren and Jilli have been a part of my life since I was in second grade. I remember when Lauren and my sister quickly became the best of friends, and back when Jilli was shy!

Unfortunately my sister Elizabeth was unable to join us…but being with Lauren and Jilli reminded me of so many Tuesdays in summers past spent in bowling alleys, baseball parks, movie theatres, Main Streets, mini golf courses, ice cream parlors, shopping malls–you name it we did it [and usually on a Tuesday and at a discount].

Here’s to more Tuesdays…and hopefully more music videos and concerts, too!
