My friend Lisa popularized the term “honest moment” when we were going camping and one gentleman who came with (Let’s call him Steve) was wearing khaki shorts, a pink polo and had Starbucks in hand. Lisa said,
“Hey Steve, can we have an honest moment? You look like you’re going to a yacht club, not camping.”
*Insert chuckle here; it was FUNNY!* You get the whole honest moment phrase concept, yes?
Here’s my honest moment: I think I looked real cute this one day, but barely anyone saw me… so this is me showing the world my adorable outfit.
Cute outfit made cuter with a matching purse 🙂
And if you want a REAL honest moment, ask me where I bought the dress!
Thanks for humoring me in my little sideshow. Also, the pictures are blurry but let’s all just consider it an artsy touch, yeah?
One of my favorite parts of our camping adventure: the lovely, dark, & deep woods. Sometimes it’s great just to get away and get lost in some fresh air and wide open spaces.
Camping was fun. And cold. And wet. And rainy. And relational. And predictable. And musical. I had a really good time with old friends and I enjoyed good conversation with people I didn’t know so well. My sleeping bag was not as warm as I had hoped and the bathroom was a little farther away than the ideal, but I’m so glad I went to sing and laugh and talk and be with some pretty special people. Just don’t sign me up to head up the Tent Pitching Committee… if I was in charge we’d all sleep in the Trin Vans. Such is life.
In about a half hour, I’ll be heading to a campground with about 20 people from my res building. I’m not exactly the world’s biggest camper…but I’m also not quite as much of a diva as some may think. I’m anticipating an interesting time for sure. No electricity/running water/ radio is bound to be an adventure.
Here goes nothing!
Camping Is In Tents 😉
One fun part of my day was making signs for an upcoming camping trip my residence building is planning (yay)! I used this picture as the background for the signs, and they will hopefully go up tomorrow! I can’t say I’m a pro at roughing it, but I’m looking forward to our building’s 23-hour adventure that is going to happen in a few weeks!
