We are almost through the short month of February! WINTER IS ENDING! MY BIRTHDAY IS COMING! EVERY LITTLE THING – IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT (that last phrase is intended to be read in song).
Here’s what I’ve been into this month:
Listening To: Carrie Underwood (Heartbeat); Kacey Musgraves (the whole Pageant Material album); Justin Bieber (even I am a Belieber these days and I can’t not sing “Love Yourself” aloud at the gym).
Wearing: ALL THE VESTS and ALL THE BOOTS. Basically, if it’s among my warmest wardrobe options, I’m wearing it.
Watching: Prison Break (what?) and The Bachelor. How’s that for a combination?
Reading: 2 Samuel (from the Bible) is the only book I’m reading right now. I really admire King David. He was quite the humble guy even though he had a lot to boast about! I will admit, there’s some weird stuff in this book as well.
Doing: working! exercising! meal-prepping! spending time with friends! exploring milwaukee! getting excited for my birthday!
Here’s to maximizing each day (and a shout-out to February 29 for existing this year)!
Per usual, I’m finding myself excited about some new stuff going on!
I’m listening to:
Chris Stapleton – Nobody To Blame. OK, I am feeling a bit hypocritical because I was the girl hatingggg on Chris at the recent CMAs but then I heard this song and instantly liked it. You win, Chris. Literally.
Luke Bryan and Karen Fairchild – Home Alone Tonight. I have honestly been Little Big Town’s biggest fan since their first album (proof: I had a volkswagen beetle shaped CD PLAYER where I would play their album “The Road To Here” every morning while I got ready for school.) So when my man Luke released a song with LBT’s Karen, I was instantly a fan.
Sam Hunt – Break Up In A Small Town. I had heard this song many times but one day VERY early in the morning, I was driving to work and heard that “she was over me before the grass grew back where she used to park her car” and I was all, wow I looooove this songggg.
Winter gear, yay! Boots, scarves, vests. You know, the cute winter stuff that is the top reason why winter is OK after all. My name is Sarah and I love winter fashion.
Rules of Engagement, Switched at Birth, Grey’s Anatomy (Megan and I are almost caught up!!!!), and the Bachelor (which is going to be a Monday night party at my place!).
#GirlBoss and I have to admit that Sophia Amoruso is not my current role model but hey I’m still reading about her youth so my opinion might change. I started this book in October and I don’t think I touched it in November or December so January seemed like a good time to pick it back up. I’m also reading the book of Hebrews (from the Bible) with my church and I just finished reading Matthew (from the Bible) on my own.
In my free-time I am:
Exercising || Blogging || Smashbooking || Attending concerts || Reading || Spending time with my friends || Pinteresting my friends’ weddings
I have a festive family-the kind that all shouts “Timber!” when my dad cuts down the Christmas tree. The kind that sings “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” and “Roll Out The Barrel” at baseball games (even if the game is minor-league and no one else stands to sing). The kind that busts out maracas for our birthdays so we can shake them and exclaim, “it’s my birthday” just for the fun of it and to relive a funny memory from a road trip for good time’s sake.
My dad always jokes that he’s going to make a Christmas list with several pages, probably an appendix, and definitely pictures. So, I now present to you my illustrated Christmas list. Keep in mind this list is not exclusive and is merely ideas.
Here we go:
1. To-Go mug/Tumblr such as this Anne Taintor one.
2. Boots-maybe gray or black.
3. A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book.
4. Cute clothes, like this shirt.
5. I love these leg warmers!
6. Scarves, perhaps from Etsy and preferably infinity scarves.
7. Cute dresses like this one. I can’t find the link, but I loooove the gold.
8. Basically anything from Paper Source but especially a calendar!
9. I could see myself wearing some kind of fur scarf like this.
10. I think this is the best sweater ever!
11. Artwork by Marc Johns or other artists I like (ie Kelly Rae Roberts, Leigh Standly, Amy Borrell, etc)
And that concludes this year’s illustrated Christmas Wish List. Cheers!
The reason I started this particular blog was in part because of my trip to Italy which took place this January. I tried really hard to be intentional and to be present, enjoying every moment of my trip. I still vividly remember most of my first day in Venice.
I love this picture because it accurately shows the beautiful colors displayed in Venice. From the sea-green water to the bright buildings, Venice is covered in great shades of color.
Bridges… and lots of ’em. Getting from A to B is a process wherever you are in Venice.
In order to get from one building to the next, you have to take at least one (but usually multiple) bridges, even if your destination isn’t all that far away.
This is one of my favorite pictures from the whole trip! I love how the wall frames my friends.
Our first dinner in Venice! I laugh when I think of this dinner. We were all still in good spirits, despite the fact that we were extremely cold (so cold that
Kyle some of us struggled to unbutton his pants to us the restroom) hungry, and extremely tired (that happens when takeoff is a little after noon and you arrive at like 9AM the next day; Kyle one of us fell asleep at this very dinner table).
Venice, I liked you a lot.
I hope to return someday soon!
On Friday night, my res building had a formal dinner. We had a really good time getting dressed up and eating above average not-quite-caf food. The evening included a few videos commemorating the year as well as awards…and my suite got the CLEANEST GIRLS SUITE award (although that award must not account for the shower…ha).
Becca & I were both quite pleased with this picture… no red eye! 😉
I had to dress up for my 8:00 today. Then it rained and I didn’t want my sweater on anymore, yet I still like to look nice for work. Now it’s time for night class and yoga pants is gonna be the ticket for getting through another Wednesday. I’d say being able to change 3x in a day is a definite advantage of living on campus 🙂
