Summer is in full swing, which is crazy to believe since (A) I’m not a student and the significance of the calendar is no big deal, and (B) the weather has been cold for the first weeks of summer.
Anyway, one summer staple is celebrating Independence Day. I always travel Up North for the fourth of July. Many of my relatives come too. We attend the town parade (and the casino throws out decks of cards!). There’s always a bonfire and fireworks and puppy chow. There’s sangria, sunshine and lake-time and plentiful opportunity for lounging.
So here’s to America- land of the free, home of the brave!
